My Premier League Dream Team

This is a collection of my favourite Premier League players for every position.  This team is obviously insane, but I’ve tried not to pick the absolute best, rather who I like as a combination of skill, swagger, and personality (and a bit of Arsenal bias).  This team is based on a 4-3-3 formation, so lo and behold my Premier League Dream Team. Starting with the back 4, I’d have Kieran Tierney at left back, the Scottish David Beckham.  KT is a gamer who plays with so much hustle and heart, ad can whip in crosses like the best of them.  He’s obviously new to the Premier League, but he’s adjusting well and making an impact.  My centre back pairing would start with the up and coming Chelsea ace, Fikayo Tomori.  He was born in Canada so there’s a little bit of Canadian bias there.  But on top of that, Tomori is emerging as an incredible CB who’s done a nice job at keeping the league’s best in check.  Beside him I’ll put the Turkish Van Dijk, Caglar Söyüncü.  He was on Arsenal’s radar a

Who will win the 2022 World Cup?

2022 World Cup An outrageous and uneducated take. My early 2022 World Cup predictions. The Netherlands.  It would be too easy to say the French who have superstars at every single position.  This is exactly why I think they’ll be losing to the Dutch in the finals of the 2022 World Cup.  But why the Netherlands?  After failing to qualify for the 2016 Euro Championships AND the 2018 World Cup, they are the underdogs.  And since I’ve got nothing to lose but everything to gain with this prediction, I’m going orange. Jokes aside, I really do believe the Netherlands will perform in 2022.  If you look at their squad full of young talent who play with such maturity, maybe you’ll see the potential that I do.  De Ligt and Van Dijk (and Stefan De Vrij) – I don’t see how anyone will get through that back line.  Plus, with the likes of Frenkie De Jong, Donny van de Beek, and Gini Wijnaldum in the squad, the midfield looks to be solid.  But where will the goals come from?  Wel

The Current Top 10 Best Front 3s in Football

The Current Top 10 Best Front 3s in Football  I wanted to write a post with my take on the current (October 2019) best front threes in football.   To me, the forwards have to score goals, so I talk mostly about this.  The information has not come from hours on hours of statistical analysis and who knows some of it may be inaccurate, but I based my rankings a bit on goals, a bit on the team’s record (in their country), and a bit on the reputation of the names and how good I think the players really are.  So here it is, and hope you disagree: 1.       Sterling, Aguero, Silva -         Man City: 32 goals for, 7-1-2 record Although Man City have suffered two defeats already this season, they’ve scored more goals than any team in the Premier League, and by a good margin.  Aguero leads the way with 8 goals and 2 in the Champion’s league.  Raheem Shaquille O’Neal Sterling (that’s his real middle name) has 7, plus 4 more and 2 assists in the UCL, and Bernardo has 4

Thoughts on our defense

Thoughts on our defense I hate to be a pessimist but through the past few years Arsenal has become notorious for having a poor defense, and I think we’re all getting a little tired of it.  However, I think the future is very bright, and can’t wait to finally restore faith in our back line.  I miss the days when Kos and Per bossed the back, and unfortunately the likes of Mustafi, Luiz, and others do absolutely nothing for me.  Now to be fair, these guys have taken a TON of criticism and we have to understand that being a defender is hard to do, but easy to look like a fool.  But unfortunately, the fans want wins and the fans want clean sheets – and they aren’t getting enough of this. Luckily, Raul and Edu worked some magic this summer and were able to bring in a couple young and very promising defensive reinforcements.  Kieran Tierney from Celtic is a young Scot who plays with pace and a lot of heart.  It’s hard not to compare him to Andy Robertson, but I think that KT has more

Keep calm and be patient with Nicolas Pepe After breaking our record signing for the Ivorian Pepe, Arsenal supporters were expecting him to start the season off with a bang.  A signing that was kept under the radar a little more than others past, we didn’t know all what to expect from Pepe. What we did know is that he could score.  His impressive goals record with Lille saw him cap off the last campaign 22 goals and 11 assists; Pepe was one of only a few players with more than 10 goals and 10 assists in Europe’s top 5 last year, and by mid-December already had 11 and 5. Spending more money than we thought we had has become all too familiar amongst Arsenal supporters.  In 2017 we added Laca for 47.7M and a few months later, Aubameyang for over 57M.  Both these guys have performed exceptionally well for the Arsenal (especially Auba at the start of this season), so I think this raised our expectations for Nico Pepe.  In addition, after all the excitement around the Zaha, Carrasco
